Construction begins on Neart na Gaoithe windfarm
One of the world’s largest offshore construction vessels has arrived at the site of the 450MW Neart na Gaoithe (NnG) offshore windfarm to begin construction 15km off the Fife coast. Jointly owned by EDF Renewables and Irish network operator ESB, the windfarm will supply enough electricity for around 375,000 homes and will offset more than 400,000 tonnes of Co2 emissions each year.
