EDF boss takes bonus cut

The boss of EDF Energy took a cut in his bonus between 2011 and 2012 as the company scaled back its spending.

Vincent de Rivaz, the chief executive of EDF Energy, received a total of £1 million in 2012, which was down from £1.2 million in 2011.

His basic salary increased slightly from £345,000 in 2011 to £356,000 in 2012, but the annual and long term incentives decreased from £545,000 and £310,000 respectively in 2011, to £423,000 and £221,000 respectively in 2012.

These figures include incentive pay based on criteria such as EDF Energy’s safety record, financial and nuclear performance, customer satisfaction and employee engagement, as well as how well the business has performed as a whole.
