Energy efficiency investor SDCL Energy Efficiency Income Trust (SEEIT) has raised £72 million in a share placing to fund future acquisitions.

The energy efficiency investor has previously raised £100 million for its floatation on the London Stock Exchange in December 2018.

It is for now keeping tight-lipped on what acquisitions the money will be spent on but it is thought investments will be announced in due course.

A total of 71,287,129 new ordinary shares will be issued at a price of 101 pence per share. The placing forms part of the company’s share issuance programme.

Tony Roper, chairman of SDCL Energy Efficiency Income Trust said: “We are delighted with the support shown by both existing and new investors in this fundraise.

“The proceeds raised will enable us to fund specific acquisition opportunities under advanced negotiation to diversify and expand the existing portfolio and reflects SEEIT’s strong momentum since its IPO in December.”
