ESO exploring commercial demand flexibility service
The head of National Grid ESO has said he sees last winter’s trials of the demand flexibility service (DFS) as a “stepping stone” to a full commercial product, possibly for winter 2024/25. Fintan Slye said the success of the service to date has shown there is an appetite in society to engage with demand flexibility. He accepted that technology is ultimately the key to making flexibility a seamless part of people’s lives.
