A primary supplier to the water and wider utilities sector has acquired an analytics company targeted for delivering resilience.

Design and consultancy firm Arcadis UK’s acquisition of software and analytics firm, SEAMS is aimed at providing decision makers with greater evidence-based data ahead of new PR19 goals – particularly resilience in the round and innovation.

Alan Brookes, chief executive of Arcadis UK said: “The utilities and infrastructure sectors are one of the last to be digitally disrupted and if we’re to meet future consumer and client demands, our industry needs to move forward quickly.”

Mark Engelhardt, managing director of SEAMS, which operates within the UK waste, energy and transport sectors, said the data-driven insights will help build new capability and access new clients and markets.

Arcadis said the acquisition will “address an increasingly critical issue” for water companies, energy providers and infrastructure operators, helping them to “improve customer satisfaction, increase affordability and maintain high levels of service”.
