Workers at the sharp end of the energy and water sectors will often encounter situations in which the risk of arc flash, or electrical flashover is high. Yet this hazard can often be underestimated in health, safety and wellbeing strategy and reporting.

In this new whitepaper, MSA sets out some of the likely causes and risks to injury posed by arc flash, which on average is responsible for two deaths, 36 burn injuries and around 230 other injuries requiring time off work in the UK every year (according to figures from the health and safety executive).
