National Grid uses ‘smart valves’ to unlock 1.5GW of network capacity

National Grid Electricity Transmission is deploying a “cutting edge” power flow control technology to unlock 1.5GW of additional network capacity in the North of England. Utility Week talks to National Grid chief engineer David Wright to find out more.
