Ofgem's enforcement decision panel dealt with two cases in 2018/19 but settled only one when big six supplier Npower was fined £2.4 million following a licence breach.
Ofgem sought a financial penalty of £3.7 million from Npower for the breach but the supplier contested Ofgem’s case and the decision was referred to the Enforcement Decision Panel (EDP).
During 2017/18, the enforcement decision panel issued a settlement mandate to E (Gas and Electricity) for its failure to comply with standard licence conditions.
