First planning permission granted for Havant Thicket

Planning permission has been granted by Havant Borough Council for the construction of the first reservoir to be built in the UK since 1989. Portsmouth Water will supply neighbouring Southern with up to 21 million litres a day to ease supply issues in Southern's western region where it must reduce abstraction from chalk streams
