Drought extended to whole of South West England

The whole of the south west of England has been moved into drought status after weeks of below average rainfall. The Environment Agency said 11 of 14 geographic regions in England are now in drought. A hosepipe ban was imposed in Cornwall and parts of Devon earlier this month but no further restrictions are anticipated by water companies.
