Auriga Services, a subsidiary of Severn Trent Trust Fund, has revealed it will launch a nationwide portal to share information about vulnerable customers later this year. Under the system - being trialled with Thames Water - customers will only have to register their details with one company and other utilities using the portal will be able to access this data.

Both the energy and water sectors need to hasten the creation of a single, shared priority service register (PSR), several industry experts have said. Electricity North West and United Utilities trialled such a scheme in 2018, but plans to roll out a common register nationwide in April this year have been delayed.
