ENW restores power to all customers

Electricity North West has restored power to all remaining customers following severe storms which hit its region at the beginning of the week.

The distribution network operator sent out a statement at 10:45pm yesterday (22 November) to say its engineers have now restored power to all customers who have been affected by the recent severe weather.

Despite the “difficult conditions” teams from the network operator have restored power to around 18,000 properties since yesterday, it said.

ENW control room manager Chris Fox said: “Our teams have worked really hard in trying conditions to restore power to all customers who have been affected by the severe weather. We understand how difficult this is for our customers. I’d really like to thank them for their understanding and patience during this time.”

In an update at 4:30pm yesterday, ENW said its engineers had been working “around the clock” to repair damage and restore power to the remaining 400 customers who were still without electricity at that time.

The network operator had been working “through the night” on Monday to restore power to 16,000 homes, with just 500 properties without power this morning. However, it announced at 11:30am on Tuesday that additional faults caused by continuous severe weather had cut power to a further 1,500 customers.
