Eon offers help to flood victims

Eon’s £6 million Energy Fund could help residents affected by recent floods.

Residents affected by recent floods have been told the fund could help replace boilers or multiple white goods if they meet the eligibility criteria. Applicants are usually limited to claiming for one appliance per household.

The fund is open to energy customers, regardless of their supplier and also offers the potential to support customers with the payment of energy debt. Since April, more than £1 million of the fund has been given away to families in need of extra support

The Eon Energy Fund was set up in April 2015 following a commitment to Ofgem that they would give back closed credits to households that meet its eligibility criteria.

Eon’s residential and customer operations director David Bird said: “We know that many people are struggling following the recent floods and that’s why we want to ensure people know that there’s help available for those who qualify for support through our Eon Energy Fund.

“We set our fund up earlier this year with the sole aim of providing assistance for people who need extra support with their energy bills.”
