£35m Leicestershire solar farm goes live

The 34 megawatt-peak project, constructed on Wymeswold Airfield in Leicestershire, consists of more than 130,000 panels and was commissioned and completed before changes in renewable obligation certificates (Rocs) last month.

Jonathan Selwyn, managing director of Lark Energy, said: “As the largest solar farm in the UK, the project has not been without its challenges, both technical and weather related. It is a testament to the teamwork of the various parties involved in its development and delivery that it was completed and connected on time.”

Lark Energy said it would continue to develop large solar projects in the UK in the future.
