Anti-gas protest at West Burton power station continues

Yesterday two members of the campaign group No Dash for Gas were
arrested for their parts in occupying the West Burton power station.

The group said eight activists planned to come down from the
chimneys and leave more supplies for the six who will remain. Two people
will cross over from chimney one to chimney two to form a single camp.

The group is protesting against new gas power stations. It said
government was planning to approve construction of up to 20 plants and
that would leave the UK “dependent on highly polluting and increasingly
expensive fossil fuels for decades”.
