Apprentices part of £1billion investment project

The apprentice project, which is into its fourth year, will prepare the trainees to work on the region’s electricity network and give them the essential skills to maintain and expand the network’s capacity.

ENW funds specific electrical qualifications as well as vocational on-the-job training, which will also include aspects of health and safety, fire precautions, first aid, and customer service.

Once the apprentices have completed their training, they will be qualified to work as overhead linespeople, jointers or fitters working to maintain and repair the network.
