Ofgem has ordered yet another challenger supplier to pay its outstanding bill under the Renewables Obligation (RO) scheme.
Breeze Energy owes more than £486,000 plus interest after the company missed the deadline for late payments.
Ofgem issued the provisional order on the same day it issued one to fellow challenger brand Nabuh Energy, which owed around £872,000 plus interest.
Nabuh Energy has since said the amount will be paid in full on or before 8 November.
Breeze failed to present the required number of renewables obligation certificates (ROCs) by 1 September or make up the shortfall through buyout payments in time for the cut-off on 31 August.
It subsequently gave Ofgem assurances that it would meet the 31 October deadline for late payments but did not do so in full.
Earlier this week, a final order was issued compelling Gnergy to make its outstanding payment of £674,000 plus interest by 31 October.
At the beginning of the month, the regulator named four suppliers who failed to make to a combined £14.7 million in buyout payments.
These were:
- Delta Gas and Power Ltd – £92,000
- Gnergy Ltd – £638,000
- Robin Hood Energy Ltd – £9,436,000
- Toto Energy Ltd – £4,556,000
Both Robin Hood Energy and Delta Gas and Power have paid their obligation, while Toto Energy has since ceased trading.
