Business Stream wins water deal in Scotland

The Royal Highland Centre and Agricultural Society of Scotland (RHASS), which owns the venue, has signed up to the new deal. It includes temporary water supply to meet increased demand during the Royal Highland Show, as well as a potential water pumping station.

The Society has been a Business Stream customer since the Scottish market opened in April 2008.

Business Stream chief executive Jo Dow said: “We’re extremely pleased to be extending our relationship with the Society, an organisation at the forefront of the Scottish farming and rural communities.

“In recent years, competition has created keener pricing across all sectors, but it has also encouraged suppliers to innovate and stand out from the crowd.

“We’re delighted that the Society has continued its partnership with us and we’re confident that we can deliver diverse water solutions to meet their needs across the expansive Ingliston site.”

The news comes as Business Stream prepares for the opening of the £2.5 billion English water market next week, enabling 1.2 million businesses and public bodies in England to choose their water supplier for the first time.

Business Stream claims its customers have saved more than £160 million on their water bills since the Scottish market opening.
