Cambridge City Council to help SMEs with energy efficiency

Cambridge City Council, in partnership with the Carbon Trust Green Business Fund, will help businesses to identify how to reduce energy costs in their workplace through behavioural and low-cost measures, and utilise funding of up to £10,000 towards the cost of energy efficiency projects from the Carbon Trust Green Business Fund.

Executive councillor for finance and resources Richard Robertson said: “The council is committed to reducing the carbon footprint of Cambridge. In this project we have teamed up with the Carbon Trust to help businesses in Cambridge reduce their energy consumption in a variety of ways.

“These workshops will give small- and medium-sized businesses the knowledge to start saving energy and money, and thereby help our city make our contribution to reducing global warming.”

The workshops will take place on 29 June are open to businesses including charities and voluntary organisations.
