CCW names new Welsh chair

The water watchdog announced at the end of last week that Tom Taylor will begin a four-year term on 1 October and replace Diane McCrea who is standing down after ten years in the post.

Taylor, who is currently the commercial director of the Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment, will represent the customers of Welsh Water, Dee Valley Water and Severn Trent and hold the companies to account.

He has also held a number of executive and non-executive roles including chief executive of the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust.

On Taylor’s appointment, CCW chair Alan Lovell said: “We’re looking forward to Tom playing a leading role in championing the interests of water customers across Wales.

“Customers need a strong and respected voice at the heart of the water industry in Wales and we’re confident Tom will build on the excellent work of our departing committee chair Diane McCrea.”
