Two more suppliers are to be expelled from the Balancing and Settlement Code (BSC) after they failed to reduce their credit cover percentage.
Elexon had previously decided to bar Neon Reef and Orbit Energy from registering any new electricity meters.
In a subsequent circular the code administrator confirmed, subject to approval by Ofgem, that it will expel the renewable energy suppliers from the BSC.
London-based Orbit Energy was launched in 2018 and is a subsidiary of US firm Genie Energy which also has a presence in Japan and Finland.
Meanwhile Neon Reef, which is based in Dorset, was one of several suppliers named by Ofgem in recent weeks as having failed to pay almost £350,000 into the renewables obligation (RO) scheme.
In September, Neon Reef was also named by the energy regulator as having failed to pay more than £37,000 into the government’s Feed-In-Tariff (FIT) scheme.
Elexon said it will continue to closely monitor and review the situation concerning the defaulting parties.
In the last few months, the company has decided to expel a number of suppliers from the BSC, which would prevent them from buying or selling electricity. Of these, Symbio Energy, Omni Energy, Ampower, MA Energy and Avro Energy have all since ceased operating.
