Energy sector facing a 208,000 employee deficit

EU Skills, a sector skills council and employer-led organisation, predicts that by 2023 the industry will need to recruit 208,000 people due to the aging workforce currently in the sector.

Neil Robertson, EU Skills chief executive, said: “This huge imbalance needs to be redressed, but together with our members we a restarting to tackle this problem.

“Through training, we are offering employees professional development opportunities, while equipping workforces with the skills to innovate new energy solutions, to aid out transition into a low carbon economy.”
