Graduates were asked to score their company on criteria such as responsibility, training and progression opportunities by careers review site TheJobCrowd.com. Energy ranked particularly highly in the last category.
The results showed that graduates working in the industry get the chance to learn new skills and take on larger tasks early on.
The industry was also found to have the shortest working day, with graduates not expected to put in excessive hours.
Keren Mitchell, co-founder of TheJobCrowd.com, said: “The industry topped the bill when it came to role employment which shows that graduates really do get the most out of the day to day tasks. They weren’t expected to do excessive hours and were generally found to enjoy the time they spend in the office.”
The National Grid followed by nucleargraduates and EDF Energy were the highest ranked energy recruiters in a list of top 100 graduate employers. BP, Wood Group and Centrica also featured in the top 100.
