Eon wants brokers to adhere to its code of practice in SME revamp

Alongside the code of practice in Eon’s new seven point plan is a commitment from the firm to improve the accuracy of its billing and get in touch earlier with businesses that fall into debt. Eon said it will not back bill them for more than three years and will reduce that to one year maximum back billing by the end of 2013.

The company also said it would improve its direct debit and contract renewal policies.

Eon said that because the 550 pay-as-you-go smart meters it has fitted at small firms had been well received, it will fit another 2,500 pre-pay smart meters by the end of this year.
