ESO calls for faster decision on future of heat
The Electricity System Operator (ESO) has urged the government to bring forward its decision on the role of hydrogen in the decarbonisation of domestic heating. In the latest annual update to its Future Energy Scenarios, National Grid ESO also highlighted several major challenges in converting gas network and boilers to run on hydrogen and stated that electric heat pumps are likely to be a more cost-effective option for the most common type of home.
