The EUA presented its manifesto, A Prescription for UK Energy”, to Labour party leader Ed Miliband when he visited the University of Warwick this week.
The 21 point manifesto called for reviewing the case for strategic investment in long term gas storage for the UK; developing stringent regulations to safeguard the environment and allowing the production of shale gas; and committing to a universal smart meter roll out by 2020;
UA chief executive Mike Foster said: “It is important for our members that their concerns are heard at the highest levels amongst decision-makers. With Mr Miliband’s visit to nearby Warwick University, we took the opportunity to present our manifesto to him.”
