Foresight Solar Fund buy 46MWp Landmead solar farm

Landmead, located in Oxfordshire, is currently under construction by Belectric UK but is expected to be grid-connected later this month and will therefore be eligible for the 1.4 ROC rate.

The acquisition is subject to the plant being built to the required standard by Belectric and its successful connection to the grid.

Foresight currently manages a portfolio of 185MW of operational UK solar plant. The addition of Landmead will increase FSFL’s capacity to 231MWp.

Foresight also agreed this year to acquire the 37.3MWp Kencot and 37.2MWp Bournemouth solar farms when they have been constructed and grid connected.

Foresight director, Ricardo Pineiro said: “This agreement with Belectric to acquire the 46MW Landmead solar plant will boost the Company’s capacity by around 25% to 231MWp. Following acquisition, Foresight will own and operate four of the largest solar power plants in the UK, with an enterprise value in excess of £300 million.”
