Former ENA director joins Elexon as strategy director

The former director of gas and European affairs at the Energy Networks Association has been appointed as director of strategy and communications at Elexon.

Angela Love, who has previously served as chair of the Gas Forum trade association, has more than 25 years’ experience in the energy and utilities industries.

She has also spent 15 years at Scottish Power, latterly as strategy and external affairs manager covering generation, trading, renewables and retail.

For the last 12 years Love has been an independent consultant working with several clients in the gas, electricity and water sectors.

Code administrator Elexon is currently leading the design of the market-wide half-hourly settlement programme for Ofgem, said Love will be responsible for understanding the energy market-change landscape and ensuring that the company can “fully utilise” its systems, skills and capability for the benefit of its customers.

Speaking about her appointment, Love said: “I’m really excited to be joining Elexon, the market leader for customer satisfaction, at a time of significant change and opportunity within the energy market.

“I hope my experience of working in the industry and on delivering business strategies will bring a valuable perspective and opportunity to leverage Elexon’s key capabilities.”

Elexon’s chief executive Mark Bygraves said: “With the energy landscape seeing unprecedented change and the needs of our customers evolving, I’m sure Angela’s cross fuel insight and market experience will be a powerful combination and help Elexon evolve and excel our customer’s expectations.

“We are a data platform and data services company and our strategy is built around maintaining and improving our standards of service, delivering to our customers’ needs and simplifying and consolidating what have historically been complex and fragmented central services, so having a strong, highly-experienced leadership team will be vital.”
