Infinis, the UK’s largest generator of energy from landfill gas, has appointed former Eon UK chief executive Tony Cocker as its new chairman and non-executive director.
Cocker retired from Eon in June after 20 years with the company including five as chief executive of its UK arm.
Alongside Cocker’s appointment, Infinis also named Scott Longhust as a new non-executive director. Longhurst is currently finance director at Anglian Water Group and managing director for its non-regulated busienss.
Welcoming Cocker and Longhurst on board, Infinis managing director, Shane Pickering said: “Tony has an excellent reputation in the energy sector and his strategic input, guidance and connections will be invaluable as we continue to grow our business. Scott has extensive experience in large utility financial and commercial senior board positions”. He said that together, Cocker and Longhurst will “enhance the effectiveness of the board and its committees”.
Inifinis has previous been chaired by another former big six boss. Ex-SSE chief executive Ian Marchant held the role of chairman of the board from 2013-2015.
Infinis, bought by 3i Infrastructure in December 2016, operates a portfolio of 121 renewable generation sites across the UK.
