Good Energy has revealed plans to become its own gas shipper following a new deal with Barrow Green Gas, which has been contracted to provide the service in the meantime.
The agreement comes after gas shipper CNG Group reportedly advised its suppliers to find an alternative shipper.
Good Energy, which does not hold any gas trading purchases with CNG, already supplies domestic customers with 10% biomethane gas via a long-standing relationship with Barrow.
The Wiltshire-based energy retailer added that it has ambitions to increase the volume of biomethane it supplies following this latest agreement.

“Looking ahead, our extensive experience in trading renewable electricity alongside our existing array of counterparty relationships means we are well placed to become our own gas shipper, and Barrow are an ideal partner for that journey.”
