Green Deal hits 2,000 plan milestone

The government’s flagship energy efficiency programme also recorded the highest number of assessments of any month since it began, with 25,138 being completed in March.

This represented a 40 per cent increase on the number of assessment completed in February and brings the total up to 182,234.

Of the 2,000 plans agreed by the end of March – which was up from 1,754 at the end of February – 532 were new (quote accepted), 473 were pending (plan signed), and 995 were live (measures installed).

Around £4 million was been claimed back via Green Deal cashback vouchers by the end of March, with 13,329 vouchers being issued.

The government figures also revealed that 680,460 measures had been installed by the end of February under the Energy Company Obligation (Eco), with 75,941 being installed that month.

Just over a third (34 per cent) of these measures were cavity wall insulation installations, 31 per cent were boiler replacements, 22 per cent were loft insulation measures, and six per cent was made up by solid wall insulation installations.
