Highest number of ‘excellent’ bathing waters recorded by EA
More beaches and inland waters gained the Environment Agency's highest classification for water quality this summer than ever before at 71%. There was however a rise in the number rated poorly, from four last year to 12 in 2022, returning to double figures for the first time since 2015.
