Last chance for under-30s to enter Rising Stars 2013 and get noticed

The programme, now in its second year, aims to develop and raise the profile of eight under-30s in the water and sewerage industry.

The successful candidates will get a profile in Utility Week, a place at the Utility Industry Achievement Awards ceremony in December, training and mentoring opportunities from senior industry figures.

Ashley Moule, a network asset engineer at Welsh Water taking part in the 2012 programme, got the chance to interview Jo Aston, the Utility Regulator for Northern Ireland.

“The programme has provided me with further opportunity to develop; broaden my experience; see other parts of the industry; and has given me a platform to demonstrate my ability to my company and colleagues,” he said. “I would encourage others to embrace this opportunity and apply for the 2013 programme.”

To apply, candidates must write a short paper outlining why they consider themselves a Rising Star and setting out where they would like to be in 10 years’ time. Email training@instituteofwater.org.uk for a form.
