Latest figures show “real momentum” behind the Green Deal

A total of 7,465 assessments where completed in March, compared to 1,729 in February. 

This means a total of 9,268 Green Deal assessments have been completed since the scheme went live on 28 January this year.

A total of 108 Green Deal assessor organisations and the 1,003 advisors they employ had been accredited – up from 77 and 618 at end February respectively.

There has also been an increase of £42 million worth of contracts that have been signed through the Energy Company Obligation (ECO) brokerage system, which now stands at £68.9 million compared to £26.9 million at end February.

Climate change minister Greg Barker said: “It is clearly very early days but the latest figures on the Green Deal show that this new market is gathering real momentum.”

He added: “Overall this is a really promising start for the Green Deal.”
