Mason takes Thames Tideway role at Ofwat

Mason’s new role was announced to Ofwat staff yesterday by chief executive Cathryn Ross as part of a wider update on the reorganisation of the senior leadership team. The overhaul has already seen the departure of former chief regulation office, Sonia Brown.

Following consultation, Ofwat is pressing ahead with the restructure which will see four new roles created, including that of senior director for Thames Tideway – a role which will last for an initial period of two years. Ofwat is recruiting for a further three roles: senior director of strategy and planning; senior director of Water 2020; and senior director of finance and governance.

In a statement to staff, Ross said: “I am pleased to say that Keith Mason successfully applied for the role of Senior Director, Thames Tideway. This is excellent news. Keith has led our work on Thames Tideway admirably to this point and is ideally placed to take forward the work within Ofwat, and to share our learning on it with others. I am pleased that the senior leadership team will continue to have the benefit of Keith’s experience, knowledge and advice. The senior director, Thames Tideway role is not a board position, but Keith will remain a member of the Ofwat board (and SRO of the Finance and Governance programme) until the relevant senior director roles have been filled.”
