MP made president of the Young People’s Trust for the Environment

The MP for North Warwickshire and Bedworth, is a member of the Energy and Climate Change select committee (ECCC) and chairs the All Party Environment Group.

He has been named as a president of the Young People’s Trust for the Environment, a charity which aims to encourage young people’s understanding of the environment and of the need for sustainability.

He joins other eight other honorary presidents, including Professor David Bellamy, Michael Aspel, and John Craven.

On his appointment, Byles said: “It is an honour to have been asked to join the Young People’s Trust for the Environment as an honorary president alongside some of my childhood heroes like David Bellamy and John Craven.

“The charity is incredibly worthwhile and I am looking forward to working with them to help improve access to high quality educational resources on the environmental issues facing the world today.”

Trustee of the Young People’s Trust, Robin Godman, said: “We are delighted to have an MP who is genuinely committed to environmental matters and who chairs something as worthwhile as the all party Parliamentary Environment Group amongst our number, and I am delighted that Dan is able to join us as an honorary president.”
