Network Rail awards energy efficiency contract

Network Rail has awarded a contract to deliver energy efficiency measures to HBS Group Southern.

The contract, under a framework agreement, is set to run for the next five to seven years.

HBS will be responsible for conducting technical energy audits of various Network Rail sites and presenting proposed energy efficiency measures, as well as offering a range of financing and funding options.

Subject to the audits being approved, the firm will then also design, supply and install renewable technologies across Network Rail sites.

HBS also has framework agreements with Anglian Water, Bristol Water and United Utilities, among others.

“The Network Rail framework represents a truly fantastic opportunity for HBS to demonstrate its proven expertise in delivering energy efficiency solutions,” said HBS New managing director, James Bull.

“Our professional and innovative approach will help tackle inefficiencies across their infrastructure head-on.

“We look forward to working with them to implement low-carbon energy initiatives that will minimise their energy consumption and carbon footprint in line with their targets,” added Bull.
