New leadership for Green Investment Bank

UK GIB chairman Lord Smith of Kelvin said the company has “moved beyond the start-up” and emphasised the importance of building the infrastructure needed to support the company’s “long-term future as an enduring institution”.

Knott will take up the new job from his current position as chief risk officer. He will also join chief executive Shaun Kingsbury as the only other executive director on GIB’s independent board.

“I am delighted that Peter Knott will be joining the GIB Board as a new chief financial officer. This role will be critical for GIB as it works to build a growing and sustainable business,” he said.

Previously having worked at renewable energy producer, Eoxis, Mulliez has experience in renewables technology and markets. As well as taking on the role of non-executive director, she will sit on GIB’s investment committee.

At the same time that the bank has bolstered its leadership, the GIB announced the departure of Rob Cormie as group operations director after over two years in the role. Cormie was responsible for setting up the GIB’s approach to assessing, monitoring and reporting the green impact of its investments and he also played a leading role in establishing the international network of green banks.
