Octopus Energy has announced the creation of 80 jobs at its newly opened offices in Brighton, which will be home to a quarter of its overall UK staff.
The move from its premises in city’s North Laine to the Queens Road Quadrant office, which was officially opened this morning (11 September), will see a further 80 roles created in addition to the 100 already based in the city.
The new roles created include for its operations team and for engineers. The company added it was looking to hire local graduates.
Octopus supplies more than 225 local businesses with its ‘Brighton Business Power’ tariff, which uses 100 per cent renewable energy from the group’s Natewood solar farm near Hailsham.

A number of companies in the sector have continued to recruit throughout the pandemic including Pure Planet, which earlier this year announced it had launched an entirely virtual recruitment process, as well as Bulb which has hired 155 new staff remotely over the past few months.
