Ofgem appoints new non-executive director

Energy regulator Ofgem has announced the appointment of restructuring and finance specialist Myriam Madden as a non-executive director.

Madden took up her new role on 1 January this year and has held senior executive finance and operational positions in global technology and financial services companies in the UK, US and Europe, as well as the public sector.

She specialises in business transformation, operational re-structuring and finance in both the private and public sectors.

Madden is a chartered management accountant and a board member of the International Ethics Standards Board for Accountants (IESBA). She is also a board member of Home Group, chairman of its Scottish subsidiary, a board member of the Traverse Theatre and chairman of its audit committee.

She has previously served as a non-executive member of the audit and risk assurance committee of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) and was a board member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and president of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants, both global accounting bodies.

An announcement of another non-executive director with a digital transformation background is expected to be made “in due course”.
