What was your first job?

Working in a shoe shop.

What are the best and worst parts of your job?

Best: being part of achieving real, positive change for my clients. Worst: trying to stay on top of what’s going on everywhere, all the time – and consequently being unable to put down my BlackBerry.

An Olympic showjumper. I love horses, and the outfits are awesome.

What’s your most treasured possession?

A classic watch my father gave my mother on their first date.

Where did you last go on holiday?

I travelled around Kenya for two weeks in November and went on safari for the first time, which was an amazing experience.

In the Hollywood film of your life, who would play you?

If I were being aspirational, Kim Novak from the Hitchcock movies. Classy. Great hair.

My mother was a Bond girl. She gets eaten by a shark in The Spy Who Loved Me.

What album is currently in your car CD player?

Much to the amusement of my friends I never passed my driving test, but Paul Kalkbrenner’s Berlin Calling is on repeat on my iPod.

What’s your favourite film and TV programme?

Favourite movies are True Romance and Reality Bites. On TV, I unashamedly love The West Wing.

What quote or saying do you most overuse?

One of my New Year’s resolutions is to stop using ‘action’ as a verb (“we’ll action that…”), but my favourite saying is “This too shall pass”.

Sort out carbon markets and broker a deal on legally binding international climate targets. Ta da!

What’s your favourite joke?

Anything from The Thick of It (sadly, all unprintable).
