One Minute Intervew: Paul Rocke, project manager, Gemserv

What was your first job?

A paper round while I was at school – I had to get up at 5am, an hour unknown to most teenagers.

What are the best and worst parts of your job?

Best: I love the variety that my job offers. Worst: the workload can be unpredictable.

What’s your dream job and why?

My long-term plan is to become a teacher. I like the idea of being able to pass on my knowledge.

What’s your most treasured possession?

I bought my first sofa a few months ago, and many lazy hours are spent in its company.

Where did you last go on holiday?

My latest trip was to Portland in Dorset; the scenery on the Jurassic Coast is unmissable. That said, I’m off to Cyprus soon because you can’t beat a bit of sunshine.

In the Hollywood film of your life, who would play you?

I’ve tried and failed to think of someone handsome enough, but I’ll just have to settle for Ryan Gosling.

Reveal something about yourself not many people know.

For the past five years I have been unable to have a blood test without fainting. The first time I fell on top of the nurse with the needle and nearly did her an injury.

What album is currently in your car CD player?

The car is my girlfriend’s, and I refuse to take responsibility for Westlife’s greatest hits.

What’s your favourite film and TV programme?

My favourite film is Anchorman – Will Ferrell is a genius. My favourite TV programme is Doctor Who.

What quote or saying do you most overuse?

“That’s odd.”

If you ruled the world, what would you do first?

I’d get down my local for a few celebratory pints. After that, who knows where the night would take me?

What’s your favourite joke?

A gorilla walks into a bar and asks for a pint. The barman says: “That’ll be £7.50 please.” The barman then adds: “If you don’t mind me saying sir, we don’t get many gorillas in here.” The gorilla replies: “I’m not surprised at these prices.”
