Open Water appoints head to transition operations to Ofwat

In his new role Field will manage the day to day operations at OWML including the transition of its activities to Ofwat, the company said in a statement.

In August this year Ofwat proposed that the company should be wound down by the end of this year, with the programme to open the water market to competition for non-domestic customers by 2017 to be taken back into Ofwat from January 2015.

Before it winds down at the end of the year, the company is expected to oversee the creation of a new advisory panel to work with Ofwat on the market design of its programme.

Field’s background includes roles with Ofgas and Ofgem.
