Ovo Energy tops customer approval table

The survey found that 82 per cent of Ovo Energy’s customers consider the provider’s service over the last six months to be “great”, as compared to “okay” and “poor” which were the other options available.

By comparison, EDF Energy was given the top rating by only 48 per cent of its customers who participated while 71 per cent of Npower’s customers rated the supplier “poor”.

Ovo’s managing director Jason Sharpe attributed the high approval rating to the fact that the company is “built around what is best for consumers”.

But Sharpe added that overall number of consumers who have never switched energy providers is “worryingly high”.

The latest government figures showed that 33 per cent of domestic electricity customers have never switched from their incumbent supplier.
