Ovo has announced its fleet will be all electric by 2030 and has signed up to The Climate Group’s electric vehicles (EVs) and efficient energy commitments.
The Climate Group is a not-for-profit organisation which aims to combat climate change, with a goal of ensuring there is no more than 1.5°C of global warming.
EV100 is a global initiative to bring together companies committed to accelerating the transition to EVs, with a view to making electric transport the new normal by 2030.
EP100 meanwhile is an initiative in partnership with the Alliance to Save Energy and brings together companies who are committed to improving their energy productivity.
Ovo Group, which includes Ovo Energy, says as an EV100 member it has committed to transitioning its fleet to EVs by 2030 and will install charging infrastructure at its work locations to support uptake by its employees.
Kate Weinberg, director of sustainability at Ovo, said: “We all need to take action towards a world beyond carbon and businesses need to lead the way. In our sustainability strategy, Plan Zero, we pledge to achieve net zero carbon emissions from our operations by 2030. So we’re proud to sign up to EP100 and EV100 crystallising our commitments to electrify our fleet and improve energy productivity.”
