Plans submitted for 1,200MW offshore windfarm near East Anglia

The proposed 1,200MW windfarm, sited off the coast of East Anglia, will have up to 325 wind turbines and provide enough electricity to power around 770,000 homes.

The development, known as East Anglia ONE, will now be considered by the National Infrastructure Directorate of the Planning Inspectorate. Subject to approval, onshore construction is scheduled for 2016 with offshore work starting in 2017. The first power generation could be achieved in 2018.
