Rahoul Bhansali, head of government and utilities, Hudson & Yorke

Career history: Rahoul worked for BT and KPMG before moving to Hudson & Yorke to head the company’s government and utilities practice.

What was your first job?

I started out as a graduate trainee at Computacenter (IT services/outsourcing).

What are the best and worst parts of your job?

The best part is establishing and growing a consultancy practice. The worst? Early morning meetings. I’m not a morning person.

What’s your dream job and why?

Being a Member of Parliament. I have a deep ambition to go into public life and give something back.

What’s your most treasured possession?

My Montblanc fountain pen. It was given to me by my parents for my 30th birthday.

Where did you last go on holiday?

Marrakech. I proposed to my now fiancée so it will always have a special place in my heart.

In the Hollywood film of your life, who would play you?

Jason Statham. We have the same hairline but sadly not the same martial arts ability.

What album is currently in your car CD player?

Michael Kiwanuka’s Home Again. Old school soul.

What’s your favourite film and TV programme?

Favourite film has to be Star Wars: Episode V – The Empire Strikes Back.

In terms of TV, I love Game of Thrones.

What quote or saying do you most overuse?

If you ruled the world, what would you do first?

Ensure every child can go to school until age 16. Education is the most important thing for current and future prosperity and social mobility.

A man walks into a bar… Ouch! Bad, but funny.
