RWE Npower operating profit falls but firm predicts steady full year

The firm cited decreasing margins in power generation and reduced energy consumption by residential customers as the main reason for the decrease. However, the company did gain more corporate and industrial customers in the UK.

Across the group, RWE’s operating profit fell 13.8 per cent to €2.44bn for the quarter. The firm blamed the German government’s decision to exit nuclear power but forecast a similar full year operating result to that of 2011.
