In a financial report, RWE said it suffered from reduced profit margins in the electricity generation business compared to 2011.
That was in contrast to the positive impact of the commissioning of the gas-fired power plant at Pembroke, while earnings generated by supply activities improved “considerably”, benefiting from efficiency enhancements and higher gas volumes.
The report said RWE Npower’s electricity margins shrank in the corporate customer segment and the fees for using electricity networks increased.
