Scottish Power has confirmed a “system error” led to an erroneous tariff being displayed online.
A tariff reportedly titled “Help beat cancer fix and save single rate June 2020 v2” was briefly displayed in August this year.
The energy giant said the incorrect details were displayed for approximately 45 minutes, during which time 140 people selected it.
A spokesperson for the provider said: “Unfortunately a system error led to an incorrect tariff being displayed for around 45 minutes.
“Approximately 140 people selected the tariff in this time. We re-contacted all impacted customers as quickly as possible to advise them of the error, and everyone was offered our lowest priced tariff.”
